Wedding Terms to Know: Floral Edition

Flowers can play a much bigger role in your wedding than bouquets alone.

When you start talking with a florist, you’ll hear terms like installations, focal flowers, personal flowers, repurposing, and more. Knowing the basics can help you communicate your vision and understand what’s possible within your budget.

Save this post before your next floral consultation!

June brought us to 48 Fields for a lovely evening

June brought us to 48 Fields for a lovely evening together.

We spent the night enjoying the beautiful property, catching up with fellow members, and, of course, sampling the hard cider made right on the premises by Loudoun Cider House.

The evening was made even more special by our incredible sponsors, who helped bring everything together, and our guest sponsor, Dylan Galvin, who serenaded us throughout the evening with his roving guitar. There’s something pretty special about good conversation, a great drink, and live music all in one place.

A big thank you to 48 Fields and Loudoun Cider House for hosting us and welcoming our HCC community, to all of our sponsors for their support, and to Dylan for providing the perfect soundtrack to our evening.
We’re grateful for these monthly opportunities to step away from the busy wedding season, connect with one another, and enjoy the people who make up Hunt Country Celebrations.

Color is having a moment. We’re loving wedding pal

Color is having a moment.
We’re loving wedding palettes that feel layered, intentional, and a little unexpected—and these four combinations are currently at the top of our list:
• Soft Blue + Ivory
• Muted Sage + Cream
• Deep Burgundy + Warm Neutrals
• Dusty Rose + Soft Gold

From flowers and bridesmaid dresses to tablescapes, stationery, signage, cakes, and even a few unexpected fashion moments, there are so many ways to bring a color palette into your celebration without making everything match perfectly.

We pulled together some of our favorite examples from Hunt Country Celebrations members, along with ideas for incorporating each palette into your own wedding.

Head to our blog through the link in our bio for all four palettes + inspiration for bringing them to life.

Which one would you choose?

Last night was one for the books. 🥂

Thank you to everyone who came out and made our Visit Loudoun + Hunt Country Celebrations mixer such a fun evening. We loved seeing so many familiar faces, meeting new ones, and watching our local wedding and events community connect, mingle, and enjoy the evening together.

We captured so many great moments and can’t wait to share more photos and video with you soon. But first, we wanted to take another moment to recognize everyone who helped bring the evening to life—from our host venue and host organizations and the planning committee, to the incredible food, drinks and desserts, the talented musicians and live entertainment, and all of the amazing vendors who created interactive experiences for our guests.

And of course, a huge thank you to everyone who attended. We hope you had as much fun as we did and enjoyed getting to know more about both Visit Loudoun and Hunt Country Celebrations, along with the talented people who make up our local wedding and events community.

Here’s to more evenings like this.

We’re officially one week away from our Wedding In

We’re officially one week away from our Wedding Industry Mixer at Mt. Defiance—and we’re thrilled to say that we’ve reached capacity!

Registration is now closed and we have a waitlist. Didn’t get a chance to register? There’s still hope! Join the waitlist through the link in our bio, and we’ll reach out if a spot becomes available.

If your plans have changed and you can no longer join us, please do us a favor and email Dana Henry at henry@visitloudoun.org We’d love to be able to offer your spot to someone who’s waiting to attend.

A quick note on drinks: Mt. Defiance will be offering a cash bar throughout the evening, so come ready to enjoy one of their cocktails, cider, or spirits while you mingle. 🍸

And now for the fun part...
This evening wouldn’t be possible without the incredible businesses helping us bring it to life. From our hosts and venue to food, sweets, music, cocktails, and interactive experiences, we’ve gathered an amazing group of local wedding and event professionals to make this more than just a mixer.

We’re so excited to introduce you to everyone who will be part of the evening:
