In the day’s pasts, guests threw grains of rice at the end of the wedding ceremony as a symbol of fertility and good fortune to send off the couple for their new life together. These days, however, couples are choosing to go with much more creative ideas for wedding send-offs and we’ve chronicled some of them in this post.

  • Sparklers

Sparklers are a fun and cost-effective way to incorporate lots of your guests into your wedding send-off. This trend has been big for the past few years and is still going strong. Just be sure to tell your photographer ahead of time so that they can set up the right lighting for the darkened sky.

  • Fireworks

Fireworks are the perfect way to start your married life with a bang! Gather your guests together for a beautiful show to light up the sky and create a memorable send-off. You also have to give your photographer a heads up ahead of this one too so that they can properly position themselves to capture you and the spectacle.

  • Confetti

You can either use the traditional paper confetti or go with something more eco-friendly like flower petals. Just make sure to designate someone to give a countdown so that your guests are ready to shower you as you exit your reception.

  • The Sunset

If you don’t want to use any of the above props for your wedding send-off, why not try being gone with the sunset? Literally! A sunset backdrop will make for a soft and romantic way for your guests to bid you goodbye.

  • A Dance-Off

Another way to have your wedding send-off without using props, gather your wedding party and have them dance you off for a memorable, personal and fun memory to end your ceremony.
