Planning Your Wedding Menu? Check Out These TipsLeave a Comment
Your wedding menu is one of the most important things you will have to plan when breathing life into your dream Big Day in Virginia. Of course, your guests will attend the wedding to celebrate with you, not just for the food – but since this is a very big part of the wedding’s atmosphere, you will definitely want to make sure the food you serve is appreciated.
How to plan the perfect wedding menu? Check out the following tips:
- Don’t serve your cocktails on an empty stomach. The cocktail hour may not last longer than 1-2 hours, but even so, serving your guests with just cocktails is a bit tacky (not to mention it can lead to a huge disaster and it can make the guests feel less in the mood to party during the big reception).
- Don’t serve foods that could cause a mess. Would you like lobster sauce spilled on your evening gown? Probably not – so you might want to skip foods that are overly messy (lobster is one example, but there are many others).
- Try to make everyone happy – including guests who might have specific dietary restrictions (no meat, no lactose, no gluten, etc.). This may be difficult, but it is definitely doable, so give it a try together with your caterer. Furthermore, try to avoid foods that are very frequently allergenic (e.g. many people are allergic to peanuts, so you might want to remove them from your wedding menu too).
